Roasting your own coffee on a regular basis grants you the luxury of having fresh coffee available whenever you wish, and allows you to have control over the quality and characteristics of your own coffee.
How:
There are many different profiles that are used to roast coffee, and the great thing about the Cormorant is that you can roast any profile, from easy to complicated, depending on your preference and experience.
There are 3 main stages for roasting: drying stage, browning stage and development stage.
We have a standard profile that we recommend for anyone starting out on the CR600 and once your journey has started, it won’t be long until you start experimenting and growing your coffee-roasting portfolio of knowledge.
The Gas roaster is heated with a ceramic infrared burner that runs on propane gas and the Electric roaster is heated with IR tubes. Both of these roasters can roast a similar profile, so the standard first roast advice is very similar.
We have extensive Youtube videos that will show you how to roast on the Cormorant.
